Joey Clarkson and Louise Parker Announce ‘If You Want Me To’ Collaboration

Rising country music talents Louise Parker and Joey Clarkson have teamed up to release a stunning duet titled ‘If You Want Me To’. The Disney princess-inspired offering from the Canadian and English singer/songwriters has been recorded and produced from their respective homes where they are currently quarantining due to the UK lockdown in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic.

Clarkson, a Canada native is currently based in Britain where she lives with her husband whilst Louise Parker hails from Essex, England. The pair have been good friends for a while now and during this isolation period they decided it would be a great time to finally team up on a single release. The result is a fantastic fairytale esque track that will delight fans across the globe.

The single has been produced by renowned producer Ryan Griffiths who also performed on and mixed the track from his home in Bedfordshire, while Peter Hewitt-Dutton mastered the single from his Los Angeles base.

Speaking about recording the song during this time period, Joey Clarkson says: “Following lockdown measures, the entertainment industry seemed to grind to an abrupt halt but – after initially grieving for the sudden loss of work – we realised that we had the means to continue content creation from home. We chose to release this track now with the intention of lifting the nation’s mood during the pandemic.”

While Louise Parker states: “After being friends online for a number of years, Joey and I wrote ‘If You Want Me To’ on the day we first met face-to-face. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to record the number prior to lockdown, so we laid down a demo remotely. Listening back, we realised the drum loop was reminiscent of the soundtrack from Disney’s The Princess Diaries; it transpired the film had been a childhood favourite for both of us and decided – there and then – that the track would be produced in the same style.”

‘If You Want Me To’ will be officially released on May 29th and is available to pre-save right now ahead of its drop date.
